TaskTeens Terms of Use
Effective date: September 25, 2026 · Last updated: September 25, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of TaskTeens, including the TaskTeens website, accounts, job listings, applications, communications, and related services.
By creating an account, posting an opportunity, submitting an application, or otherwise using TaskTeens, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use TaskTeens.
1. What TaskTeens Is
TaskTeens is an online marketplace that helps local Job Posters connect with teenage workers seeking work opportunities.
For purposes of these Terms:
- "TaskTeens," "we," "us," or "our" means the TaskTeens platform and its operators.
- "Teen Worker" means a user seeking or applying for work through TaskTeens.
- "Job Poster" means an individual, household, business, organization, or other person that posts or offers an opportunity through TaskTeens.
- "User" means any person using TaskTeens.
TaskTeens provides technology that allows users to find and communicate about opportunities.
Unless applicable law provides otherwise based on the actual circumstances, TaskTeens does not hire Teen Workers, set their work schedules, supervise their work, determine how their work must be performed, provide job-site equipment, operate job sites, or directly pay wages for work performed for a Job Poster.
TaskTeens is not a staffing agency and is not automatically a party to a work arrangement merely because users met through the platform.
The legal relationship between a Job Poster and Teen Worker depends on applicable law and the actual circumstances of the work arrangement. Nothing in these Terms determines whether a Teen Worker is an employee, independent contractor, casual worker, household employee, or another type of worker.
2. Eligibility
Teen Workers
Teen Worker accounts are currently intended for users who are at least 14 years old.
Users under 18 may use TaskTeens only in accordance with TaskTeens' eligibility requirements and applicable law.
Where TaskTeens requires parent or guardian consent, the Teen Worker must obtain that consent before participating in opportunities through the platform.
TaskTeens may require additional parent or guardian consent for certain features or categories of opportunities.
A Teen Worker may not misrepresent their age in order to access an opportunity that is restricted to older workers.
Job Posters
Job Posters must be at least 18 years old.
By posting an opportunity, a Job Poster represents that they have the legal authority to offer that opportunity and to make any required employment or hiring decisions.
Users may not create accounts for another person without authorization.
3. Parent and Guardian Involvement
TaskTeens strongly encourages active parent or guardian involvement when a minor uses the platform.
Where TaskTeens requires guardian consent, the parent or legal guardian may be required to separately agree to a Parent/Guardian Consent and Minor Participation Agreement.
Teen Workers should tell a parent or guardian:
- where they will be working;
- who they will be working for;
- when they expect to begin and end work;
- how they will travel to and from the work location; and
- any material change to the location, duties, hours, or Job Poster.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates rights belonging to a minor that applicable law does not permit to be waived.
4. Job Poster Responsibilities
Job Posters are responsible for the opportunities they offer.
By posting or providing an opportunity through TaskTeens, each Job Poster agrees to:
- provide accurate and complete information about the opportunity;
- accurately describe expected duties;
- accurately disclose compensation;
- accurately disclose expected hours and schedule;
- accurately describe the general location of the work;
- disclose reasonably foreseeable risks associated with the work;
- provide lawful and reasonably safe working conditions;
- provide appropriate supervision where required;
- provide necessary safety instructions and protective equipment where required;
- comply with applicable minimum-wage laws;
- comply with applicable overtime, meal-period, rest-period, wage-payment, and recordkeeping laws;
- comply with applicable work-hour restrictions for minors;
- comply with applicable work-permit requirements;
- comply with applicable child-labor laws;
- comply with applicable workplace-safety laws;
- comply with applicable discrimination and harassment laws;
- determine and comply with applicable payroll and tax obligations;
- determine and comply with applicable worker-classification requirements;
- maintain workers' compensation coverage when legally required;
- maintain any license, permit, certification, registration, or insurance required for the opportunity; and
- comply with all other applicable federal, state, and local laws.
A Job Poster may not avoid a legal obligation merely because an opportunity was found through TaskTeens.
5. Work Permits and Minor Employment Rules
Job Posters and Teen Workers are responsible for satisfying work-permit and other minor-employment requirements applicable to a particular opportunity.
Where a valid work permit or Permit to Employ and Work is legally required, the Job Poster must not permit the Teen Worker to begin work until the required authorization has been obtained.
A Job Poster may not ask a Teen Worker to work hours prohibited by applicable law or by the Teen Worker's work permit.
TaskTeens may require users to confirm work-permit or guardian-consent status, but a status shown on TaskTeens does not constitute legal advice or a guarantee that all legal requirements have been satisfied.
6. Prohibited and Restricted Work
Job Posters may not post or assign work that is unlawful for the age of the Teen Worker performing it.
TaskTeens may prohibit categories of work even when a particular activity might otherwise be lawful.
Depending on a Teen Worker's age and applicable law, restricted or prohibited work may include work involving:
- dangerous machinery;
- power-driven cutting equipment;
- construction;
- roofing;
- demolition;
- excavation;
- logging;
- mining;
- explosives;
- certain manufacturing environments;
- forklifts, hoists, or similar equipment;
- motor-vehicle driving as part of the job;
- certain delivery activities;
- hazardous chemicals or substances;
- firearms or other weapons;
- cannabis, tobacco, nicotine, alcohol, or controlled substances;
- sexually explicit services or adult entertainment;
- unlawful activity;
- work creating unreasonable risks of physical harm; or
- any activity prohibited by TaskTeens' Community Guidelines or Prohibited Jobs Policy.
Additional restrictions may apply to workers who are 14 or 15 years old.
Job Posters are responsible for determining whether a particular task is legally permitted for the Teen Worker's age.
TaskTeens may remove an opportunity whenever we reasonably believe it presents an unacceptable safety or legal risk.
7. Compensation and Payment
Job Posters must accurately state the compensation offered for an opportunity.
Where employment laws apply, Job Posters must pay at least the legally required wage, including any applicable state or local minimum wage.
TaskTeens does not permit Job Posters to evade wage laws by describing an employee as a volunteer, intern, independent contractor, gig worker, or another label when the law provides otherwise.
Unless TaskTeens expressly introduces an integrated payment service, compensation for work is arranged directly between the Job Poster and Teen Worker.
TaskTeens does not guarantee payment by a Job Poster.
Failure to pay legally owed wages may be reported to TaskTeens and may result in account suspension or removal.
Nothing in these Terms limits a Teen Worker's right to pursue legally owed compensation.
8. Teen Worker Responsibilities
Teen Workers agree to:
- provide truthful information;
- accurately describe relevant skills and experience;
- apply only for opportunities they are legally eligible to perform;
- follow applicable work-permit requirements;
- follow lawful workplace safety instructions;
- avoid performing tasks they reasonably believe are dangerous or unlawful;
- tell a parent or guardian about work arrangements as required by TaskTeens' rules;
- treat Job Posters and other users respectfully;
- comply with TaskTeens' Community Guidelines; and
- report serious safety concerns or suspected misconduct.
Teen Workers should never provide unnecessary sensitive information to a Job Poster.
9. Sensitive Information and Applicant Safety
Job Posters may not request through TaskTeens:
- Social Security numbers;
- banking passwords;
- online banking login credentials;
- payment-card passwords;
- cryptocurrency wallet credentials;
- account passwords;
- unnecessary government identification numbers;
- unnecessary medical information;
- unnecessary school schedules;
- money or application fees from applicants; or
- other information prohibited by TaskTeens.
Teen Workers should not provide these categories of information through their profile, résumé, application, or TaskTeens messages.
A legitimate hiring process may sometimes require certain information after an actual hiring decision. Job Posters remain responsible for collecting and handling such information lawfully and securely outside TaskTeens where appropriate.
10. Job Locations
Public job listings should use a city, service area, or approximate neighborhood rather than publicly displaying an exact private residential address.
Users should exchange a precise work location only when reasonably necessary for a legitimate opportunity.
Teen Workers should share job-location information with a parent or guardian before attending an in-person job or interview.
11. Interviews and In-Person Meetings
Users must comply with TaskTeens' interview and meeting safety rules.
Teen Workers are encouraged to:
- involve a parent or guardian;
- use public meeting locations for initial meetings where practical;
- tell a trusted adult where they will be;
- maintain their own transportation plan; and
- leave any situation that appears unsafe, materially different from the listing, coercive, or unlawful.
No Job Poster may prevent a minor from contacting a parent, guardian, emergency service, or appropriate authority.
12. Employer Verification
TaskTeens may offer optional verification or profile-review features.
A "Verified" badge means only that TaskTeens reviewed specific information submitted by that Job Poster under the verification process in effect at that time.
Unless TaskTeens expressly states otherwise, verification does not mean:
- a criminal background check was completed;
- a professional license was checked;
- insurance was verified;
- financial status was verified;
- every statement on the profile was independently confirmed;
- the Job Poster is endorsed by TaskTeens; or
- TaskTeens guarantees the Job Poster's identity, character, conduct, safety, reliability, or future behavior.
Users must continue to exercise reasonable judgment even when an account displays a verification badge.
13. No Safety Guarantee
TaskTeens cannot guarantee that every user, listing, workplace, interview, or work arrangement is safe.
TaskTeens does not ordinarily visit, inspect, manage, operate, or control workplaces listed on the platform.
TaskTeens does not guarantee:
- the identity of every user;
- the truthfulness of every listing;
- that a Job Poster has complied with every law;
- that every workplace is free from hazards;
- that any person will behave appropriately;
- that an opportunity will remain available;
- that a Teen Worker will receive an offer;
- that a Teen Worker will perform satisfactorily; or
- that users will fulfill promises made to one another.
Verification, moderation, reporting, or account-review measures reduce some risks but cannot eliminate all risks.
14. Workplace Injuries and Other Harm
Real-world work can involve risks.
TaskTeens does not own or control workplaces operated by Job Posters and ordinarily does not supervise Teen Workers while work is performed.
The Job Poster is responsible for workplace conditions under the Job Poster's possession or control and for satisfying workplace-safety, employment, insurance, workers' compensation, supervision, and other legal duties that apply to the Job Poster.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TaskTeens is not responsible for injuries, illness, death, theft, property damage, harassment, assault, misconduct, unsafe workplace conditions, accidents, unpaid compensation, or other harm caused by a Job Poster, Teen Worker, property owner, customer, animal, equipment, vehicle, workplace condition, or other third party.
This includes harm arising from:
- work performed at a location TaskTeens does not own or control;
- equipment supplied by another person;
- animals under another person's ownership or control;
- vehicles operated by another person;
- inaccurate information supplied by another user;
- a user's failure to follow applicable law;
- a user's violation of TaskTeens' rules; or
- conduct occurring outside TaskTeens' reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that applicable law does not permit TaskTeens to exclude or limit.
15. Emergencies and Safety Reports
TaskTeens is not an emergency-response service.
If someone faces immediate danger, users should contact emergency services or an appropriate local authority rather than relying on TaskTeens.
Users may report:
- unsafe listings;
- harassment;
- threats;
- discrimination;
- fraud;
- nonpayment;
- prohibited work;
- inappropriate contact;
- suspected exploitation;
- inaccurate employer information; or
- other violations.
TaskTeens may preserve relevant records and cooperate with appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary or legally required.
16. User Conduct
Users may not use TaskTeens to:
- violate any law;
- exploit or endanger a minor;
- harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or discriminate against another user;
- solicit sexual activity;
- distribute sexually explicit material to minors;
- engage in human trafficking or exploitation;
- impersonate another person;
- create fraudulent job opportunities;
- obtain personal information for unrelated purposes;
- conduct phishing or other scams;
- demand money from applicants;
- distribute malware;
- scrape or harvest user information without authorization;
- interfere with TaskTeens' security;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems;
- evade a suspension or ban; or
- encourage another person to violate these Terms.
17. Applications and Hiring Decisions
Submitting an application does not guarantee:
- an interview;
- a response;
- an offer;
- employment;
- any particular wage;
- any particular number of hours; or
- continued work.
Job Posters are responsible for their own hiring decisions.
Job Posters may not unlawfully discriminate against applicants.
TaskTeens does not make employment decisions on behalf of Job Posters unless a particular feature expressly states otherwise.
18. User Content
Users may submit information including profiles, résumés, job listings, application responses, portfolio links, messages, and reports.
Users retain ownership of content they own.
By submitting content to TaskTeens, users give TaskTeens a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and provide TaskTeens and to comply with law.
This license ends when the content is deleted from TaskTeens, except where continued retention is reasonably necessary for backups, legal obligations, safety investigations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or similar legitimate purposes.
Users may not submit content they do not have the right to provide.
19. Privacy
Use of TaskTeens is also governed by the TaskTeens Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how TaskTeens collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal information.
Users should review the Privacy Policy before creating an account.
20. Third-Party Websites and Services
TaskTeens may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties.
TaskTeens does not control those services and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, security, products, or conduct.
Users access third-party services at their own discretion.
21. Moderation and Enforcement
TaskTeens may investigate suspected violations of these Terms or other platform rules.
TaskTeens may:
- reject or remove listings;
- restrict an account;
- pause an account;
- suspend an account;
- terminate an account;
- remove content;
- remove a verification badge;
- limit account functionality;
- preserve relevant records;
- require additional verification; or
- take other reasonably necessary safety measures.
TaskTeens may act immediately where we reasonably believe a user or opportunity presents a safety, fraud, legal, or security risk.
Administrative actions may be logged for security, accountability, fraud prevention, and dispute handling.
TaskTeens is not required to publicly disclose confidential safety, investigation, security, or moderation information.
22. Account Suspension and Termination
Users may stop using TaskTeens at any time.
TaskTeens may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that a user:
- violated these Terms;
- violated the Community Guidelines;
- created a safety risk;
- engaged in fraud;
- provided materially false information;
- misused applicant information;
- repeatedly failed to pay workers;
- attempted to exploit a minor; or
- used TaskTeens unlawfully.
Serious violations may result in permanent removal.
23. Marketplace Disclaimer
TASKTEENS IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

- EVERY USER IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE;
- EVERY LISTING IS ACCURATE;

Nothing in this section limits warranties or rights that applicable law does not allow to be waived.
24. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TASKTEENS AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO USE OF TASKTEENS OR DEALINGS BETWEEN USERS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TASKTEENS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE INDEPENDENT ACTIONS OR OMISSIONS OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES.
WHERE APPLICABLE LAW PERMITS A MONETARY LIMITATION, TASKTEENS' AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- THE AMOUNT THE USER PAID DIRECTLY TO TASKTEENS DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR
- $100.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability for TaskTeens' own fraud, willful misconduct, or other conduct for which liability cannot legally be waived or limited.
25. Disputes Between Users
A dispute between a Job Poster and Teen Worker concerning:
- performance of work;
- wages;
- payment;
- schedules;
- workplace conduct;
- working conditions;
- property damage;
- employment status; or
- another aspect of their work arrangement
is primarily a dispute between those users.
TaskTeens may offer reporting or moderation tools but is not obligated to act as a court, arbitrator, collection agency, payroll administrator, employment agency, or insurer.
Nothing in this section prevents a user from exercising legal rights against another user.
26. Job Poster Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, each Job Poster agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TaskTeens and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, penalties, fines, losses, costs, and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or relating to:
- an opportunity posted or provided by that Job Poster;
- the Job Poster's acts or omissions;
- conditions at a workplace owned or controlled by the Job Poster;
- bodily injury or property damage caused by the Job Poster or conditions under the Job Poster's control;
- unpaid wages or compensation;
- worker misclassification;
- wage-and-hour violations;
- work-permit violations;
- child-labor violations;
- workplace-safety violations;
- tax or payroll obligations;
- discrimination or harassment;
- lack of legally required insurance or workers' compensation coverage;
- inaccurate or misleading information supplied by the Job Poster;
- misuse of applicant information; or
- violation of these Terms or applicable law.
This section does not require indemnification to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
27. No Waiver of Worker Rights
Nothing in these Terms waives or limits any wage, workplace-safety, workers' compensation, discrimination, child-labor, employment, privacy, or other statutory right that applicable law makes nonwaivable.
No TaskTeens rule authorizes conduct prohibited by law.
If these Terms conflict with a nonwaivable legal requirement, the legal requirement controls.
28. Ownership of TaskTeens
Except for user-submitted content, TaskTeens and its associated software, branding, logos, designs, text, graphics, interfaces, and other proprietary materials are owned by TaskTeens or its licensors.
Users may not copy, reproduce, sell, reverse engineer, scrape, or commercially exploit protected TaskTeens materials except as permitted by law or with permission.
29. Changes to the Platform
TaskTeens may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features.
We do not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available indefinitely.
30. Changes to These Terms
TaskTeens may update these Terms as the platform, laws, or safety practices change.
The current version will identify its effective date and last-updated date.
If we make a material change, we may provide additional notice through the platform, email, or another reasonable method.
Where legally required, continued use may require acceptance of updated Terms.
31. Governing Law
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Nothing in this section deprives a consumer, minor, employee, or other protected person of rights that applicable law does not permit to be waived.
32. Resolving Disputes With TaskTeens
Before filing a lawsuit against TaskTeens, users are encouraged to contact hello@taskteens.com and provide enough information for TaskTeens to understand and attempt to resolve the dispute.
This informal process does not prevent anyone from seeking emergency relief or exercising rights subject to a legal deadline.
Unless applicable law requires another location, disputes involving TaskTeens may be brought in an appropriate state or federal court with jurisdiction in the California county where TaskTeens maintains its principal place of business.
33. Severability
If a court determines that part of these Terms is unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permitted or severed where necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.
34. No Waiver
TaskTeens' failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not automatically waive our right to enforce that provision later.
35. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with applicable policies expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement governing use of TaskTeens.
Related policies may include:
- the Privacy Policy;
- the Community Guidelines;
- the Prohibited Jobs Policy;
- the Parent/Guardian Consent and Minor Participation Agreement; and
- other safety rules displayed by TaskTeens.
If a specific TaskTeens policy expressly states that it controls over these Terms for a particular feature, that policy controls for that feature.
