TaskTeens Privacy Policy

Because many TaskTeens users are minors, we believe their personal information deserves additional care. We try to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate TaskTeens, facilitate applications, maintain platform safety, and comply with applicable law.

We do not sell personal information, use personal information for third-party targeted advertising, or display third-party advertisements.

1. Who Can Use TaskTeens

TaskTeens accounts are intended for users who are at least 14 years old.

TaskTeens is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 may not create or use a TaskTeens account.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in a manner prohibited by applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete the information and close the account.

Users under 18 may also be subject to TaskTeens' parental or guardian consent requirements and other eligibility rules.

2. Information We Collect

Teen Accounts

When you create or use a Teen Worker account, we may collect:

• Your name.
• Email address.
• Account authentication information.
• Your age or age range.
• Your city or general service area.
• Skills and experience.
• Availability.
• Transportation information you choose to provide.
• Portfolio links.
• Résumé files you choose to upload.
• Work-permit status.
• Parent or guardian consent status.
• Applications and responses you submit through TaskTeens.
• A phone number when you choose to provide one as part of an application.
• Communications sent to TaskTeens, including reports or support requests.

Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider. TaskTeens does not intentionally store passwords in plain text.

Please do not include Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, banking information, exact home addresses, school schedules, medical information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in your résumé, profile, application, or communications through TaskTeens.

Employer and Job Poster Accounts

When someone creates or uses an Employer or Job Poster account, we may collect:

• Name.
• Business or organization name.
• Email address.
• Phone number.
• City or service area.
• Website.
• Business description.
• Job information submitted for publication.
• Information submitted as part of an optional employer or business review, such as a registered business name.
• Communications, reports, and support requests.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most online services, TaskTeens and the service providers that operate our website may automatically process limited technical information when someone uses TaskTeens.

This may include:

• Internet Protocol (IP) address.
• Browser and device type.
• Operating system.
• Date and time of requests.
• Pages or features accessed.
• Security and authentication logs.
• Error and diagnostic information.
• Cookies or similar technologies necessary for login, security, and basic platform functionality.

We do not use this information to build advertising profiles about teenagers.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

TaskTeens does not ask Teen Workers to provide:

• Social Security numbers.
• Bank-account or payment-card credentials.
• Government identification numbers.
• Exact home addresses.
• Exact school schedules.
• Precise GPS location.
• Medical information.

If a user voluntarily submits unnecessary sensitive information, TaskTeens may remove it.

4. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

• Create and maintain accounts.
• Provide TaskTeens' job marketplace.
• Allow Teen Workers to apply for opportunities.
• Allow Job Posters to review applications submitted to them.
• Send account, application, safety, and service communications.
• Operate optional verification or profile-review features.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and misuse.
• Investigate safety reports.
• Enforce TaskTeens' Terms of Service and platform rules.
• Maintain and improve website functionality.
• Diagnose technical problems.
• Protect TaskTeens, its users, and others.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

TaskTeens does not sell personal information.

TaskTeens does not use personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

5. Teen Profiles and Applications

Teen Worker profiles are not publicly searchable or publicly displayed.

A Job Poster receives personal information about a Teen Worker when the Teen Worker chooses to apply to that Job Poster's opportunity. The Job Poster receives only the information included in or associated with that application.

This may include information such as the Teen Worker's name, age range, city, experience, skills, availability, résumé, portfolio link, responses to application questions, and contact information provided as part of the application.

Teen Workers should submit personal information only when they are comfortable sharing it with that Job Poster.

Information After It Is Shared

Once information has been provided to a Job Poster, that person or business may possess a copy independently of TaskTeens.

Withdrawing an application prevents the application from continuing as an active application on TaskTeens but cannot guarantee deletion of copies already downloaded, copied, printed, screenshotted, or independently retained by the Job Poster.

Job Posters are prohibited from misusing applicant information and should use applicant information only for legitimate purposes related to the opportunity.

6. Job Location Privacy

Public job listings should display only the city, service area, or approximate neighborhood necessary to describe the opportunity.

TaskTeens discourages users from publicly posting exact residential addresses.

Specific meeting or work-location information should be exchanged only when reasonably necessary for a legitimate opportunity and in accordance with TaskTeens' safety rules.

7. Service Providers

TaskTeens uses third-party companies to operate portions of the platform.

These may include providers of:

• Website hosting.
• Cloud infrastructure and databases.
• Authentication.
• Email delivery.
• Security and fraud prevention.
• File storage.
• Error monitoring and technical infrastructure.

These providers may process information on TaskTeens' behalf as necessary to provide their services.

TaskTeens does not authorize its service providers to sell Teen Worker information or use Teen Worker information for their own targeted advertising.

8. Other Disclosures

TaskTeens may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with a valid legal requirement, court order, subpoena, or other lawful process.
• Investigate suspected fraud or misuse.
• Enforce TaskTeens' Terms or safety policies.
• Protect the rights and property of TaskTeens or others.
• Investigate a credible safety threat.
• Protect a person from serious harm.
• Contact appropriate authorities when reasonably necessary for safety or as required by law.

We may also disclose information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate protection of personal information.

9. Minors and Parent or Guardian Information

TaskTeens is specifically designed with teenage users in mind.

Accounts are intended for users age 14 or older. TaskTeens does not knowingly permit children under 13 to maintain accounts.

Where TaskTeens requires parental or guardian consent, we may maintain a record showing whether consent was provided and information reasonably necessary to administer that consent.

TaskTeens does not sell personal information belonging to minors.

TaskTeens does not use minors' personal information for third-party targeted advertising.

A parent or legal guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information to TaskTeens should contact us at hello@taskteens.com.

10. California Minors: Removing Information

Teen users may edit or remove eligible profile information through their account.

Users may also request removal of information they submitted to TaskTeens by contacting hello@taskteens.com or using available account tools.

Removal from TaskTeens does not guarantee complete removal everywhere.

For example, information may remain:

• In copies previously downloaded or saved by a Job Poster.
• In information independently submitted or reposted by another person.
• In temporary backup systems.
• In records TaskTeens is legally required or reasonably permitted to retain.
• In security, fraud, abuse, or safety records when continued retention is reasonably necessary.

Where appropriate, TaskTeens may satisfy a removal request by making information no longer visible or accessible to other users even when a limited copy must temporarily remain within TaskTeens' systems.

11. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the information and applicable law, users may be able to:

• View and edit profile information.
• Remove profile information.
• Delete uploaded résumé files.
• Withdraw applications.
• Change communication preferences.
• Request correction of inaccurate account information.
• Request deletion of an account and eligible associated information.

Account-deletion requests may be submitted through TaskTeens account settings when that functionality is available or by emailing hello@taskteens.com.

We may need to verify that the person making a privacy request is the account holder, parent, guardian, or otherwise authorized person before completing the request.

12. Account Deletion

When an account is deleted, TaskTeens will take reasonable steps to remove or de-identify personal information that is no longer necessary.

Deletion from active systems may not be instantaneous.

Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary to:

• Complete an existing transaction or request.
• Maintain security.
• Prevent fraud or abuse.
• Investigate safety incidents.
• Enforce platform rules.
• Resolve disputes.
• Exercise or defend legal claims.
• Meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Information previously provided to another user, such as an application already sent to a Job Poster, may also remain in that person's independent possession.

13. Data Retention

TaskTeens does not intend to retain personal information indefinitely.

As a general rule:

Account information is retained while the account remains active and is deleted or de-identified after account deletion when it is no longer reasonably necessary.

Résumés and profile information are retained while provided by the user and may be deleted by the user or removed following account deletion.

Applications may be retained for up to 12 months after the related opportunity closes or the application becomes inactive, unless earlier deletion is appropriate or longer retention is reasonably necessary for a safety investigation, dispute, or legal obligation.

Routine technical and security logs are generally retained only for the period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and fraud prevention.

Safety, abuse, fraud, or legal records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate incidents, comply with law, or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Backups may retain deleted information temporarily until backup copies are overwritten or expire through ordinary backup cycles.

TaskTeens periodically reviews whether retained information remains necessary.

14. Security

TaskTeens uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

Depending on the system involved, safeguards may include:

• Encrypted network connections.
• Account authentication.
• Database access controls.
• Row-level access restrictions.
• Role-based administrator permissions.
• Restricted access to production data.
• Security logging and monitoring.

No website, database, or communications system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should use strong passwords and should not send unnecessary sensitive information through TaskTeens.

15. Cookies and Online Tracking

TaskTeens may use cookies or similar technologies that are reasonably necessary for functions such as authentication, account security, user sessions, preferences, and website operation.

TaskTeens does not currently use third-party advertising networks to track users across unrelated websites for behavioral advertising.

Do Not Track

Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" or similar signal.

Because there is no universally accepted technical standard governing traditional Do Not Track signals, TaskTeens does not currently change its ordinary practices in response to those signals.

TaskTeens does not use personal information for cross-site targeted advertising. Where applicable law requires TaskTeens to recognize a legally valid privacy-preference signal, TaskTeens will comply with that requirement.

Third-Party Tracking

TaskTeens does not authorize third-party advertising companies to collect Teen Worker information across unrelated websites for targeted advertising.

Service providers used for hosting, security, authentication, or similar platform operations may process technical information on TaskTeens' behalf.

16. Sale and Advertising

TaskTeens does not:

• Sell Teen Worker personal information.
• Rent Teen Worker personal information.
• Provide Teen Worker information to data brokers.
• Allow third-party behavioral advertising based on Teen Worker activity.
• Display third-party advertisements to Teen Workers.

If TaskTeens ever materially changes these practices, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those practices are implemented and any legally required consent or choice will be provided.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

TaskTeens may update this Privacy Policy as the platform changes or as legal requirements change.

The current version will always identify its effective date and last-updated date.

For material changes affecting how personal information is collected, used, or disclosed, TaskTeens may provide additional notice through the website, an account notification, or email when appropriate.

We encourage users and parents or guardians to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
