Privacy Notice and Notice at Collection
Version 2026-10-v0.4 · Effective date: October 30, 2026 · Last updated: October 27, 2026
Operator: [Legal operator to be confirmed]. Effective: October 30, 2026. Privacy contact: hello@taskteens.com, [Business mailing address to be confirmed].
1. What we collect and why
We collect the following to run the job board, support guardian permissions, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations:
- Account and contact information, age range, role, guardian linkage and proportionate verification records — for eligibility, sign-in, permissions and account recovery.
- Listings, applications, private work addresses, duties, pay and schedules, work-permit status and approval records — for authorized applications and eligibility checks.
- Text messages, support requests, reports, evidence you choose to upload to a report, and moderation and appeal records — for communication, guardian visibility, safety and complaints.
- IP address and device details, necessary sign-in cookies, security and error logs, and email delivery records — for operation, security and troubleshooting.
- Parent consent records: the consent version, the statements checked, the date, and the IP address and browser used.
- Optional live location, only if a parent allows it and the teen turns it on during a confirmed job (see section 4).
Birth dates, identity records, work permits, guardian details and reports are never public profile fields. Don't send Social Security numbers, bank or payroll logins, card numbers, unrelated health details or identity documents through job chat. Posters handle their own employment records securely; TaskTeens does not run payroll.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, target ads, collect biometric templates, or train general-purpose AI models on private teen data. There are no advertising pixels, audio recording or chat attachments.
2. Who can see information
Public listings show only the city, an approximate area and non-identifying job details. Teen profiles are not a public directory. Public pages never show a teen's surname, school, home address, routines or contacts. Posters see only the limited profile a teen submits when applying to that poster's job.
An exact work address is not public and is not released just because a teen applies. After the poster selects a teen, the linked guardian reviews the job; only after the guardian approves that specific job do the teen and guardian see the address. Material changes require a new approval. Other applicants never receive it. Authorized safety staff may access an address when necessary, and that access is logged.
Linked guardians see their teen's job messages, applications and approvals; this is shown before chat. Private safety reports are restricted when sharing could create danger, including where a guardian or poster is involved. Staff access is role-limited and logged. Email notifications point to the signed-in site and leave out full chats, addresses and sensitive allegations.
Data needed to run the service is processed by: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Resend (email delivery) and Cloudflare Turnstile (sign-up spam protection). These providers may process data in the United States and other locations under their own terms. No undisclosed outside AI processor is used. Legal advisers, insurers, authorities or emergency responders receive limited information only where the law allows or requires it. We assess legal demands, and any business transfer is limited to lawful purposes; absolute confidentiality is not promised.
3. Requests and retention
Email hello@taskteens.com to access, correct, export, close, delete or remove content you posted. We verify identity and authority proportionately and review disputed or unsafe guardian requests separately. Our targets are to acknowledge within 10 business days and complete within 30 calendar days, subject to stricter law and explained lawful extensions. We explain lawful refusals or retention exceptions and never retaliate for a request. Removal may not retrieve copies others already lawfully hold.
Retention: incomplete or unactivated accounts 30 days; routine chat 12 months; job, application, approval and payment-dispute records four years after the job ends; account contact data for the life of the account plus 30 days; security logs 90 days; backups rotated within 90 days; live location — only the latest point, deleted when sharing ends; safety and incident records [retention period to be confirmed]. Specific legal or safety holds pause only the necessary deletion, restrict access and are reviewed periodically. Restored backups reapply deletions.
4. Optional live location
Location sharing is off by default. It works only during a confirmed job's time window, only after the parent has allowed it, and only when the teen turns it on. Only the teen's linked parents see it — never the poster. It stops at check-out, at the end of the window, or when the teen stops it, without any penalty. GPS can be wrong and phones may stop sending updates; the parent's page shows when the last update arrived. Declining location sharing never reduces pay or account access.
5. Security, children and California rights
We use private storage, encrypted connections, restricted roles, multi-factor sign-in for administrators, secure recovery and other reasonable safeguards. We do not promise perfect security. Required breach notices follow applicable law.
TaskTeens is not offered to children under 14. If we learn we collected an underage child's data, we restrict the account and review deletion and any required notice. California privacy rights and minors' content-removal rights remain available; where the CCPA/CPRA or another law applies, its mandatory rights, deadlines and request methods control. Cookies and browser signals are described in the Website Notices.
We give collection notices before collecting information and advance notice of material changes. New optional uses require fresh consent where required. Account, security and service messages go to the contact details you gave us; there is no promotional email, SMS or automated calling program.
